The Honda S2000 was a two-seat, rear-wheel-drive convertible sports car produced for the 2000 to 2009 model years.
The S2000 first went on sale in late 1999 featuring styling from the SSM Concept.
The name S2000 hearkens back to the first Honda sports cars that sold in the 1960s. Those cars, the S500, S600 and S800 were named to reflect their engine sizes: 531cc, 606cc and 791cc, respectively. The engine in the first production S2000s had a displacement of 1997cc.
For the 2004 model year, Honda increased the displacement of the S2000 to 2157cc for the North American market.
2009 was the last model year for the S2000
